The Effects of Capsaicin in Hot Chili Peppers on Type 1 Diabetes

Diabetes Breakthrough - National Post - December 15 2006

"Toronto Scientists Cure Disease in Mice"

This was the headline on the front cover of the National Post newspaper on Dec.15.06. It's slowly becoming more and more well known that one of the major components to healing/curing any kind of disease is simply NUTRITION from fruits and vegetables, and that's more or less what these scientists discovered. The diabetic mice were injected however, not fed, capsaicin, an active ingredient in chili peppers. Virtually overnight the diabetes was gone and the mice were healthy.

Capsaicin is a potent inhibitor of "substance P", a neuropeptide associated with inflammatory processes.

Pancreas problems and insulin reistance in diabetics is partly due to the inflammation of insulin-producing islet cells. Until now, mainstream science believed that Type 1 diabetes was the result of the body's immune system turning against itself, but it now appears as though the nervous system plays a major part in the disease.

The discovery happened when the scientists attempted to kill pancreatic sensory nerves with the substance P neuropeptide. A single injection has kept the mice healthy for up to four months.

Wanna Try It?
Some people might want to give this a try for themselves and the only problem there might be is that chili peppers can be difficult to eat due to the hotness. And how many peppers would be required? It turns out there is a much simpler way of putting this to practice, although the hot issue still remains. How about a pure organic chili extract that's made using a proprietary extraction process that results in a highly concentrated liquid containing the power of the entire plant, even beyond the concentration of essential oils? "The hotter the chili the more capsaicin." The first time I tried this extract I wasn't expecting it be too hot because it certainly didn't smell spicy, but boy was I fooled! It was probably the equivelent of two drops and my eyes were watering, nose was running, face sweating, and not to even mention what was happening in my mouth! I still use it VERY sparingly in foods, and even in drink mixtures, but never again will it be taken straight.Chili Extract ForeverGreen Preventative

Adding and Subtracting
If this chili extract is going to be used, it should be done in combination with a proper nutritious diet (organic fruits and vegetables). Simply taking the chili by itself without changing one's diet is the equivilent of taking a pharmaceutical drug.. a quick temporary fix that won't last. "He that takes medicine and neglects diet, wastes the skill of the physician." - Chinese Proverb. If we don't remove the negative lifestyle choices that are contributing to our health problems, that problem will always remain or return. What you include in your diet is just as important as what you exclude from it. Sugars and grains are supposedly a major contributor to diabetes. Diabetes can, and has been reversed completely by people who were willing to make the necessary lifestyle changes. "Raw for 30 Days" movie trailer and "Another Day" video.  It can't be recommended highly enough that a WHOLE FOOD health supplement, such as FrequenSea, be taken on a daily basis. The more help (nutrients) we give the body, the faster it can heal itself.

Changing Your Mind
The removal of negative emotions and stress is absolutely key in healing as well. Some scientists and researchers are estimating that 85-95% of all diseases are the result of "stress". In other words, false negative beliefs, perceptions, attitudes, and opinions. If something isn't relevant and beneficial to oneself and all others without exception, how can it be truth? If something doesn't promote peace (of mind), how can it be truth? Of course you'll have to work at your own pace, but it will be necessary to let go of negative perceptions and opinions, and to just let things BE AS THEY ARE. It's been mentioned several times already on this site that "without the mind interfering, everything just IS." To put it another way, Life/Universe/Nature/Existence is absolutely perfect and doesn't need the opinions of the human ego to tell it that it is or isn't. See how this viewpoint promotes peace of mind? Health is largely a state of mind. Reverse the dis-ease by being at ease. Everything just IS.

"I AM happy, healthy, complete, and at peace." Take at least 10 minutes a day, every day, to sit and repeat this affirmation, and really FEEL it within your being. Just remember, whatever you continuously put your focus on, you recieve more of. This is the placebo effect and the power of changing the subconscious mind's programming. Eventually, changing one's habits and ways of thinking becomes a normal and natural part of life once we realize that the world doesn't necessarily work the way we think it does, and that the opinions perpetuated by the mind are not "the final truth". "People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
